The famous gourmet sandwich and salad restaurant, Lina's, is proud to organize the first ever sandwich competition, held over five months in Lebanon to encourage local culinary talent and create an exciting fun-filled food event. Every month over five months, contestants in a different part of Beirut or Jounieh are competing to create the best sandwich, which will then be featured on Lina's menus. At the end a grand winner, whose sandwich will appear on Lina's 2012 menu, will also be chosen.

The launch event and first session took place on Monday, July 11 at Lina's downtown flagship store, in the presence of several important judges in the industry. Among them was Mrs. Joumana Salameh of Hospitality Services, whose undisputed expertise in culinary contests supported Lina's Sandwich Competition. The first prize during this session went to Lamia Chehayeb who created a very unique sandwich that impressed all the judges. The next event will be held at Lina's Jal El Dib and promises to unveil another 'homemade' sandwich creation that will help position Lebanon as the Gourmet Sandwich capital of the Middle East.
