JOIN CYCLAMEN HIKE Batroun region - 14 March
For bookings please contact TAREK on 70 205275
Spring has arrived early this year ; the wild flowers are already blooming in the hills which makes a hiking experience even more special. So join us for a wonderful hike in the region of Batroun.
We will start our hike from the village of Maad, ( 550m ) where we will make a stop to buy supplies for our picnic.
The word Maad comes from the Phoenician word meaning" meeting place" - the village features vestiges going back to the Roman , Byzantine and Crusader eras. From Maad we will descend to the Ain Kfaa Village passing through oak tree forests and olive tree groves.
This region features several old churches and monastery ruins witness to the area's rich history. Our hike will end in Sahl el Bijjeh ( 750m). Bijjeh is home to several sarcophagi and ancient wells built on to an ancient Phoenician temple. Our hike will take around 4 1/2 hours and of course we will make a stop along the way for a picnic in a shady spot..
ABOUT CYCLAMEN: Our philosophy is to increase awareness of Lebanon's natural and cultural heritage through non-profit activities which include hikes and treks in rural regions. We always aim to hire local guides for the hikes and encourage visitors to purchase food locally.
