There are many huge and beautiful oak trees.  Lunch will be under one of these trees.

Afterwards, we will go to Mar Touma Monastery. It is a beautiful place in the midst of breathtaking oak trees. Like most villages in the Lebanese mountains, Chbanieh is covered with trees and orchards. It is located amidst a beautiful vast valley, which dazzled the French poet Lamartine, so the valley became known by the name of “Lamartine Valley”.

There are monuments of ancient graves in the town which are named “the graves of the Jews” until this day. Near the sarcophagus of the Jews there is a deep cave which has not been discovered yet, known as “Magharat Harb”.
This cave is archeological according to the traditions of the village and it contains the forest spring which has two sources, “Kakha” and “Fouar”.

After the hike, we will head to the Ghineh village, which lies in the foothills above Jounieh. This village is interesting for the old Roman ruins and Byzantine remains it contains, at a place known as "Keb'al el-Hosain”. A well-marked stepped path that descends from the village will lead us to the ruins of a Roman temple that in the 5th century was made into a church with a mosaic floor. Nearby are rock-cut tombs with funerary reliefs above the entrances. One of the scenes is a Roman funerary rock carving, representing a wild animal attacking a hunter. Local tradition says this is a representation of Phoenicia's god, Adonis, being killed by a wild boar.

10. Laqlouq SS

Laqlouq is a winter and summer resort, situated on a plateau at an altitude between 1750m and 2000m. Laqlouq is encircled by jagged ridges and terraces bearing thousands of trees.

Laqlouq is known for its numerous water reservoirs.  In winter, when it is covered with snow, you get the impression of seeing ice ponds everywhere. It is a naturally beautiful view, and a must to see.
As usual, snowshoeing offers us the unique experience of calm and serenity. We will discover Laqlouq’s beauty while walking on snow.

There will be two levels of difficulty.
Although both levels will be walking the same area, the harder level will take the steeper hills and the longer path to reach the top where a huge cross is located and views of the whole region can be seen.

Both levels will meet for lunch at a very picturesque spot. Please bring your lunch with you

On the way back if time permits, we will stop in Annaya to visit the monastery of St. Charbel and have a short rest for coffee or tea.

11. Wine Tour North

This wine tour is different from the rest. We will visit wineries mainly the North: Trappiste, Chateaux Musar, Adyar and lunch will be in Chobtine.

Our first stop will be at the ‘Trappiste Priests Winery’. We will have breakfast there, then we’ll visit their winery and taste their exquisite homemade wines. Trappiste is a small winery, producing small quantities of high quality wine.

Our second stop will be in Ghazir to visit CHATEAUX MUSAR:
Chateau Musar, famous locally and internationally, is located in Ghazir. The winery was established by Gaston Hochar in 1930. Created in the cellar of an old 17th century castle, Château Musar is the work of a family. The vineyards of Château Musar are located at an altitude of over 1,000 meters in the Bekaa Valley. The wines of Château Musar are known for their complexity and maturity. Château Musar has achieved international recognition, and received many awards.
You will have the chance to visit this winery, learn about the process of wine making, and listen to a professional seminar about wine tasting while tasting the different kinds of wines.

Then we will go to the monastery of KFIFAN, where you can visit Saint Neemtallah el Hardini and the beatified monk, Estephan Nehmeh.

Afterwards, you will see the winery of ADYAR, located in the monastery of Kfifan. Adyar was established in 2003, cultivating vineyards in Batroun, Metn and Chouf, and producing unique wines.
The vineyards are not exposed to any chemical fertilizers or pesticides, thus giving us high quality organic wines. Adyar produces white, rose and red wines. You will get the chance to taste them during your visit.
